A classroom writing device

Room to think.
Space to write.

Vero is being built to give students a focused place to put their ideas into words—with writing saved on the device and no internet connection needed to keep working.

Meet Vero Writer

Working prototype · In development

On the device

A writing space that keeps the task in view.

Vero Writer is the first application for Vero. The current prototype brings an assignment, a spacious editor, and the essential writing controls together on one screen.

Start with the prompt

Keep the assignment close at hand. Write with a keyboard and see the word count as the response develops.

Keep work on the device

Drafts save automatically. The prototype restores saved writing after an application interruption or a normal reboot.

Finalize without losing the draft

Save a separate completed submission while keeping the recoverable draft. Teacher collection is the next part of the workflow.

The classroom we're building for

Shared devices.
Individual ideas.

Our goal is a classroom where students can take an available Vero and begin, while teachers organize the work from their own computer.

Student sessions, classroom management, and device transfer are planned features. They are not available in the current prototype.

  1. Prepare the classA teacher sets up students and a writing assignment through the teacher portal.
  2. Write independentlyStudents work on their Veros, with local autosave keeping writing independent of the connection.
  3. Collect the workCompleted responses transfer to the teacher's computer for organization and export.

Coming next

A home for the teacher's side of writing.

The teacher portal is planned for teach.vero.school: one place to manage classes, prepare assignments, and organize received writing.

Teacher registration is not open yet.

We're building the account and classroom foundations next. This website does not currently collect account details, student information, or payments.
